No Garbage Pick-up on Saturday December 31, 2011

The Taber Transfer Station is unable to transfer their garbage to any landfill sites due to the strong winds, and therefore they are unable to allow the Village of Barnwell to dump any garbage this Saturday, December 31st. Therefore, there will be NO GARBAGE PICK-UP THIS SATURDAY, DECEMBER 31ST.

Garbage is expected to resume pick up Saturday, January 7th and limits will be removed for this day. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however this is a situation beyond the Village of Barnwell’s control.

Please also note that no burning is allowed within the Village of Barnwell limits due to the extreme dry and windy conditions until further notice.

Village Tax Instalment Plan

All taxpayers who have enrolled in the tax instalment plan must have their taxes paid in full by December 31. It is the taxpayers responsibility to ensure that your final payment is sufficient to cover the balance owing.
Letters will be sent in December to verify your instalment payment amounts commencing in January. If you do not receive a letter, please check with the Village office to verify your payments. Any taxpayers who would like to enroll in this plan, please contact the Village office for details and for payment calculations.
