Council is currently considering the development of a potential Urban Hen Pilot Program to gauge community interest and determine structural viability before any permanent bylaw adjustments are made. Your feedback is vital to this decision-making process.
Proposed Pilot Program Framework:
- Scale: A random lottery draw will select exactly four (4) participating households.
- Flock Limit: Maximum of four (4) hens permitted per household.
- No Roosters: Roosters are strictly prohibited to prevent noise disruption.
- Containment: All hens must reside within a secure, municipally-approved coop.
