DESCRIPTION:Come out for a great weekend with the family! The fun starts Friday evening with an outdoor volleyball tournament\, crib tournament\, craft sale and a family movie. Saturday includes a fun run\, breakfast\, volleyball consolation\, craft sale continued\, parade\, fun in the park\, dinner ($2 for Hot Dog meal and $3 for a Hamburger meal)\, program\, family dance and fireworks to finish it all off. \nCheck out the flyer below for all the times\, locations\, and details Barnwell Days Color Flyer size \n2k and 5k Fun Run\nSaturday\, July 20\, 201\nRegistration: All Fun Run Race registrations forms must be accompanied with the following registration fee:\nAge 16 and under $5.00 per participant\nOver age 16 $10.00 per participant\nPlease note the following guidelines for registration. \n*Pre-Registration: You must pre-register for the race by submitting a Registration from to the Village of Barnwell Office for each race participant by WEDNESDAY\, July 3rd\, 2019. Each participant that registers before this deadline will receive a bib number and a Barnwell Day T-shirt in their race packet. Children 3 and under may participate for free\, however no T-shirts will be provided. No refunds or shirts will be given to registrants that do not participate in the race. \n*Late Registration: If you miss the July 3rd registration deadline you may still register as a late registrant. Late registrations will be accepted at the Village office until July 18th and between 7:30 and 7:45 am on July 20th\, 2019 (just prior to the race)\, however\, T-shirts will not be included in the late registration packet and bib numbers will be given on a first come first serve basis\, while quantities last. \nRace Information: Both the 5k and the 2k will begin and finish at the Barnwell LDS Church and will begin at 8:00am. There will be one water station on the 2k course\, and two stations on the 5k course. Water and light refreshments will be served at the finish line and participants are welcome to at attend the pancake breakfast at Willow Park after the race.\n\nPacket pick-up: Bib numbers can be picked up between 7:30-7:45 a.m. the day of the race\, so come early so the race can start on time! Late registrations will be accepted from 7:30-7:45 a.m.\, however\, we cannot guarantee a bib number will be available.\n\nCourse Description: The 5k and the 2k will run along the old highway 3. Racers will begin on Heritage Road in front of the Barnwell LDS Church\, follow the road signs placed on the course\, and return to the finish line at the Barnwell LDS Church.\nPrizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each age category in the 5k ONLY. DESCRIPTION:On Saturday\, July 13\, 2019 from 8:00 AM to approx. 4:00 PM\, the Village of Barnwell will be holding a Barn Raising as we raise the roof on the new Pole Barn at Willow Park\, in preparation for Barnwell Days. We need your help. We need volunteers that are strong and are comfortable with building and working on a roof. We need volunteers who can cut wood or be a runner and carry the supplies. All you need to bring is some basic hand tools (if you have them) and your work clothes. Lunch and beverages will be provided for all workers. \nThe dual-purpose Pole Barn is being constructed to be used for large gatherings and will also feature three Pickle Ball Courts\, a sport with rising popularity that combines elements of tennis\, badminton and ping pong. It is nestled in the center of Willow Park with ample shelter from the elements\, so will be an ideal place for events and to enjoy the fast growing\, easy to learn sport of Pickle Ball which is fun for all ages. \nIf you are able to help us out\, we would appreciate it if you would let the Village office know (403-223-4018)or email us at barnwell@barnwell.ca so that we can be organized and have jobs assigned and ready to go. Please come and rub shoulders as you work together with other residents of our community.

SUMMARY:2018 Barnwell Days
DESCRIPTION:Come out for a great weekend with the family! \nThe fun starts Friday evening with an outdoor volleyball tournament and a family movie. Saturday includes a fun run\, breakfast\, parade\, fun in the park\, dinner ($2 for Hot Dog meal and $3 for a Hamburger meal)\, program\, family dance and fireworks to finish it all off. \nCheck out the our PDF flyer for all the times\, locations\, and details. \nSaturday\, July 21\, 2018\n2k and 5k Fun Run\nRegistration: There will be a $5.00 registration fee to participate in either the 2K or 5K race. Registration forms must be submitted to the Village of Barnwell office for each race participant by Thursday\, July 12\, 2018. Late registrants will only receive bib numbers while quantities last and on a first come first serve basis. Children 3 and under may participate for free.Race Information: Both the 2k and 5k will begin and finish at the Barnwell LDS Church and will begin at 8:00. There will be one water station on the 2k course\, and two water stations on the 5k course. Water and light refreshments will be served at the finish line and participants are welcome to walk to the pancake breakfast at Willow Park after the race. \nPacket pick-up: Bib numbers can be picked up between 7:30-7:45 a.m. the day of the race\, so come early so the race can start on time! Late registrations will be accepted from 7:30-7:45 a.m.\, however\, we cannot guarantee a bib number will be available. \nCourse Description: The 5k and the 2k will run along the old highway 3. Download the Pioneer Day Parade and Dualthalon routes and the full Pioneer schedule of events for your reference.  Please specifically note the times and places of each event.  If you don’t care to participate in an event\, be sure to come out and be a spectator and cheer for those that do. \nWe have lots of activities planned for Friday and Saturday: \n\nSoftball Tournament: Preregister by July 16\, beginning at 6PM till dark.  Contact Aaron Edlund at 403-388-4257\nMovie Outside: Bring chairs\, blankets and pillows\, back behind the school!\nThe Duathlon and 2K Walk/Run – Get your bikes and your running shoes ready for a short bike race and run.  Download your Race Information and Registration Form and please turn the form into the Village office before July 19. Download the parade route.\nFun in the Park – This event will have a special appeal to children and will take place in the park after the parade\, includes face painting\, wagon rides\, obstacle and bouncy houses.\nThe Chili Taste-Off –  If you would like to participate in this event\, please preregister by July 18 (forms available at Village office).  Register early as only 12 applications will be accepted.  Bring your crock pot full of hot & homemade chili (15 serving size minimum) to the park by 4:50 pm where it will be tasted and judged by our professionals!!  It will then be served as your contribution to the supper meal.\nSummer Meal: Meat courtesy of the Barnwell LDS 2nd Ward.  Each family should bring a salad or dessert for 15.  If your surname fulls between: A – K bring a salad; L – Z bring a desert.\nCitizen of the Year: Presentation to the Barnwell citizen of the year.\n\nWe wish to thank our many volunteers and sponsors whose contributions have made Barnwell Pioneer Day Events possible.
