SUMMARY:2018 Barnwell Days
DESCRIPTION:Come out for a great weekend with the family! \nThe fun starts Friday evening with an outdoor volleyball tournament and a family movie. Saturday includes a fun run\, breakfast\, parade\, fun in the park\, dinner ($2 for Hot Dog meal and $3 for a Hamburger meal)\, program\, family dance and fireworks to finish it all off. \nCheck out the our PDF flyer for all the times\, locations\, and details. \nSaturday\, July 21\, 2018\n2k and 5k Fun Run\nRegistration: There will be a $5.00 registration fee to participate in either the 2K or 5K race. Registration forms must be submitted to the Village of Barnwell office for each race participant by Thursday\, July 12\, 2018. Late registrants will only receive bib numbers while quantities last and on a first come first serve basis. Children 3 and under may participate for free.Race Information: Both the 2k and 5k will begin and finish at the Barnwell LDS Church and will begin at 8:00. There will be one water station on the 2k course\, and two water stations on the 5k course. Water and light refreshments will be served at the finish line and participants are welcome to walk to the pancake breakfast at Willow Park after the race. \nPacket pick-up: Bib numbers can be picked up between 7:30-7:45 a.m. the day of the race\, so come early so the race can start on time! Late registrations will be accepted from 7:30-7:45 a.m.\, however\, we cannot guarantee a bib number will be available. \nCourse Description: The 5k and the 2k will run along the old highway 3. DESCRIPTION:NO bagged garbage! \nSpring & Fall Clean-up is a program to help you get rid of excess garbage\, not compostable materials such as grass\, weeds\, leaves etc.  The Taber Transfer/Landfill Site has a compost pile which is free of charge just before you go on the scales at the Transfer site.  We strongly encourage you to take advantage of this site and be environmentally responsible.  This pit is there for your use.  Please note that your bags of compostable must be dumped out at this site. Do not mix garbage with compostables.

Download the Pioneer Day Parade and Dualthalon routes and the full Pioneer schedule of events for your reference.  Please specifically note the times and places of each event.  If you don’t care to participate in an event\, be sure to come out and be a spectator and cheer for those that do. \nNote the addition of these new events for Saturday\, July 21: \n\nThe Duathlon – Get your bikes and your running shoes ready for a short bike race and run.  Register at 12:00 noon at the LDS Church parking lot.  You may enter as a team or individually.\nFace Painting – This new event will have a special appeal to children and will take place in the park after the parade.\nThe Chili Taste-Off –  If you would like to participate in this event\, please preregister by July 13 (forms available at Village office).  Register early as only 15 applications will be accepted.  Bring your crock pot full of hot & homemade chili (15 serving size minimum) to the park by 4:50 pm where it will be tasted and judged by our professionals!!  It will then be served as your contribution to the supper meal.\n\nPlease take note that the Complimentary Breakfast meal time has changed.  It will be served from 8:00 am to 9:30 am.  Don’t sleep in and miss this delicious meal. Be sure to also join us for the supper meal at 5:30 pm.  Please do not forget your food assignment for this meal which is listed on the attached schedule.  Food assignments are intended for all those attending.  Above all\, you don’t want to miss the grand finale of the day with an awesome display of fireworks which will commence around 10 – 10:30 pm (at dark) at the park. \nWe wish to thank our many volunteers and sponsors whose contributions have made Barnwell Pioneer Day Events possible.
